What is Halal
Halal means clean/allowed and is an Islamic term used to describe what is permissible for Muslims to eat. The term describes anything that is permissible according to Islam. Exactly what is permissible to eat is stated in the Qur'an.
Halal baking

Vegetarian is not always Halal
When a product is vegetarian, this does not mean that it is Halal. Muslims are not allowed to consume alcohol, so products containing alcohol are not Halal.
