Prepare
Other materials:
- 5 eggs (250 gram)
- 250 gram butter
All the ingredients need to be at room temperature. Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection oven 160°C). Mix 500 gram mix for cupcakes, 250 gram butter and 5 eggs on low speed in 4 minutes to a smooth batter. Fill an ingreased baking pan (25 cm) with the batter and bake the cake in approx. 70-75 minutes.
Crumble the cake, after it has cooled down, in a bowl. Add 100 gram decorator icing to the cake and mix it well. Shape drops 30 grams and make the bottom a bit flat. Let the stiffen in fridge for a while.
Melt 500 gram chocolate melts in the microwave (lowest stand), au bain-marie or in the chocolate melter. Divide the chocolate in four parts and colour each part in a different colour. Dip the sticks a bit in the chocolate and stick them in the hats. When the chocolate is hard and the sticks are attached well, dip the hats complety in the chocolate. Let the remaining chocolate drip off and let them stiffen.
Knead 250 gram fondant well and roll this out. Lubricate the dummy with the piping gel and cover it with the fondant.
In the meanwhile, colour the fondant in the same colour as used for the hats. Roll balls of fondant, for every hat one. Also make small strokes. Let them dry.
Lubricate the edge of the hats with a bit of piping gel and roll them true the nonpareils. Do the same for the balls and place them on the hats with some piping gel. At last stick the curl in the hat.
