Prepare
Ingredients for the Hot Tea Bombs
- 350 g FunCakes Isomalt
- FunCakes Food Colour Gel Pink
- Edible Tea Petals
- Green Tea (or any other tea flavour of your own choice)
Other necessities for the Hot Tea Bombs
- Silikomart Semisfera Mould 7cm
Step 1: The preparation for the Hot Tea Bombs
To start off, melt the FunCakes Isomalt in a heat resistant bowl in a microwave on maximum 700W. Stir the isomalt about every 20-30 seconds and place it back into the microwave on 700W again. Repeat this process about 4-6 times. Make sure the isomalt is completely melted to process it further.
Colour the isomalt using the FunCakes Food Colour Gel Pink, make sure you're wearing heat resistant gloves because the isomalt can be very hot. Fill a bowl with cold water, and make sure that the bowl of isomalt fits into the bowl filled with cold water. Place the bowl with isomalt into the bowl with cold water for about 5 seconds.
Step 2: The base of the Hot Tea Bombs
Pour a little bit of the isomalt into the semisfera mould by Silikomart. Grease the isomalt with the convex side of a tea spoon against the sides of the mould. Repeat this until the isomalt becomes rigid, then let it cool down and stiffen up.
Step 3: Making the Hot Tea Bombs
Put some of the edible flower petals and a tea bag into one half of the semisfera mould, make sure the string of the tea bag is hanging out of the mould. Place the other side of the hemisphere on top of the side that has the petals and the tea bag by dipping it into a little bit of isomalt and quickly placing it on top of the other hemisphere. Hang the tea bomb in a glass of hot water and enjoy a delicious cup of tea!
