We love it when baking mixes can be used for many different kind of treats. Those musthave kind of mixes you just always want to have in your pantry as they make you go a long way. The FunCakes Mix for Cookie & Pie Crust definitely is such a mix. It can be used for crispy crusts for pies, such as apple pie. The mix gives volume during baking and just is a delicious cakey bottom for your pies. It goes really well with almond paste to give it an even richer taste. You can also perfectly used it for cookies or pastries. For example filled cookies such as thumbprint cookies with jam or pastries with fruits on top.

• Easily make crusts for pies and pastries or bake cookies.
• Just add butter and eggs to create a firm dough.
• Content: 500 gram.

Preparation: Mix 500 g mix, 155 g butter and 1 egg (50 g). Knead into a firm dough and rest in the fridge for approx. 1 hour.
For cookies: roll out dough to approx. 3 mm thickness and cut out shapes. Bake for approx. 12 minutes at 180°C (convection oven 160°C).
For apple pie: roll out dough to approx. 5 mm thickness, coat a spring form pan (22-24 cm) with the dough and fill with 1 kg of apple pieces mixed with some cinnamon and sugar. Put a grate of dough strips on top of the apples and coat these with beaten egg. Bake for approx. 50 minutes at 170°C (convection oven 150°C).
