Baking a beautiful sponge cake is easy with the Dr. Oetker Sponge Cake Mix. After baking, the cake is tall enough to slice into three layers and fill with, for example, delicious fluffy buttercream. Perfect for creating your own festive fondant cake or naked cake, with endless possibilities!
- Bake a delicious sponge cake with the Dr. Oetker Sponge Cake Mix.
- Just add 5 eggs and a little water.
- Content: 330 g.
Place the oven rack slightly below the centre of the oven and preheat according to the instructions on the packaging. Line the base of the springform tin with baking paper, place the ring on top and close securely. Lightly grease the sides with butter or baking spray.
Add the mix, eggs and water to a mixing bowl and blend on the lowest speed until combined. Then beat on the highest setting for at least 5 minutes until the batter becomes light and airy. Pour the batter evenly into the springform tin and smooth the surface. Bake the cake for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown and fully baked.
Check for doneness by inserting a skewer into the centre of the cake. If it comes out clean and dry, the cake is ready. Allow it to cool briefly on a wire rack and remove the springform ring after 10 minutes. Turn the cake upside down onto a rack and carefully remove the base. Leave to cool completely before slicing, filling and decorating.
