What is KiKa and what do they do?
Every year, almost 600 children in the Netherlands get cancer. Currently, 81% of these children are cured. It has to and it could be better. Our goal is to increase this percentage to 100%. KiKa raises funds for innovative research and other activities in the field of childhood cancer, aimed at less pain during treatments, more cures and a higher quality of life in later life. In addition, KiKa focuses on providing information about childhood cancer.
Baking for KiKa: an initiative by Marleen Gerdes,
She has worked in childcare for 15 years. Four years ago she came up with the idea to call on all childcare organizations in the Netherlands to take action for a month and start baking for KiKa. There was a massive response! This action has already raised more than €200,000. That, of course leaves you wanting more! And, Deleukstetaartenshop is happy to lend a hand!
