September has arrived, for us this means that autumn is slowly but surely commencing and that our baking will get a delicious autumn touch. Someone who shares our opinion is Jurino Ignacio (Super Dushi Chef) from Soulfood.nl (Antiliaans eten) - the succesful platform for lovers of cooking, baking and delicious food. For the third time this year, Jurino has started working on a delicious recipe for Deleukstetaartenshop. Earlier he got started on the festive mini buns with cream cheese frosting and the unicorn cake, now he has ventured into the ultimate autumn recipe: Pumpkin Spice Cake with Apple.

Collaboration Jurino Ignacio x Deleukstetaartenshop

Like Jurino from Soulfood describes it so beautifully: "September is a kind of magical border". The first pumpkins are for sale, the swimsuits are slowly being replaced by thick sweaters and we're ready for cosiness, cute candles on the table and of course baking. All of this means that autumn is commencing, and we're secretly looking forward to it!

To kick off this upcoming season, Jurino has started working on giving a twist to the popular Pumpkin Pie, namely a Pumpkin Spice Cake with Apple. In addition to the refreshing twist of a sponge base, apples are also used in this recipe, did you know that it is the time for picking apples? We can already hear you thinking 'That recipe sounds amazing!' and yes, amazing it is!

For the Pumpkin Spice Cake with Apple, Jurino obviously went shopping at Deleukstetaartenshop. Even though we obviously don't sell pumpkins and apples, he did use our FunCakes Baking Mix for Cookie & Pie Crust to create a delicious base. And how about a cake ring to bake the crust in?

The Pumpkin Spice Cake with Apple is made up of a delicious cookie & pie crust with on top of that an autumn pumpkin spice filling instead of the regular almond paste filling you're used to seeing when it comes to crust recipes. Afterwards, a layer of a delicious apple, pumpking and raisins mixture. And as for the finishing touch, the cake is decorated with tufts of whipped cream or buttercream, marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles.
